Bob Chisholm creates hand-turned wooden pieces from his workshop in Nairn. What began as a hobby has gradually developed into a rewarding craft that he now enjoys pursuing in retirement.
Working mainly with locally sourced Scottish hardwoods, Bob turns a range of bowls, vessels and decorative objects on the lathe. Each piece reflects the natural character of the timber it came from, with grain patterns and colour variations making every item slightly different from the next.
The result is a collection of simple, carefully made pieces that celebrate both the material and the traditional craft of woodturning.
