Aaron creates contemporary furniture and sculptural pieces in wood, guided by the natural character of the material itself. His work often begins with a fallen tree, many sourced locally from Logie Estate, allowing the timber’s origin and structure to play a central role in the finished piece.
Rather than sawing the wood conventionally, Aaron works by splitting it along the natural lines of the grain. This approach preserves the strength of the fibres and reveals organic forms that help shape the final design.
Using traditional hand tools such as an axe, shave horse, drawknife and spokeshave, the timber is gradually refined into functional furniture or sculptural objects. Each piece is a one-off creation that reflects both the natural qualities of the wood and the skill of the maker.
