  • Morakniv Hook Knife 162 Double Edge
  • Mora Companion Knife
  • Opinel Sharpening Stone
  • Carpenter's Pencil
  • Faithfull Leather Chisel Roll

The Mora Carving Knife 120 is a Swedish made medium length knife specifically designed for wood carving, available in two blade types (please select from the drop-down box above):

If you are just starting out on your carving adventures this is a great one to get going with, but make no mistake of its quality or reliability, as it is also used by many experienced carvers. Typically used for spoon carving and other carving work such as bevelling tenons on chair legs.

This is a slightly shorter knife when compared with the Morakniv Carving Knife 106 some beginners prefer starting with this knife due to the shorter blade but probably will find some limitation when doing cuts requiring tight turns. If you can, its worth having both in your collection - but if you can only afford one - we'd probably advise go for the 106 due to its increased versatility. Nonetheless this knife is an absolute workhorse and absolutely deserves a place in any carvers tool roll.

The Mora Carving Knife 106 is a Swedish Made medium length knife specifically designed for wood carving. Its typically used to carve wooden spoons and similar carving projects as the narrow blade allows access to tight areas and quick tight turns. Perfect length for efficient slicing cuts and the long narrow blade also makes it useful to reach into shrink boxes.

Mora Carving Knife 106 blades are hardened to 61 - 62 Rockwell, which permits the taking and keeping of a great edge. The long flat bevels are not only essential for controlling carving cuts but also make sharpening straight forward.

The Morakniv Hook Knife 162 Double Edge is a Swedish made knife specifically designed to hollow out the bowls of spoons.

The double edged blade means it can be can be used by pushing and pulling over a surface that needs to be hollowed out - for both right and left handed users. However, please note your grips will be limited with this knife, and we'd recommend as an excellent complimentary tool to have in your arsenal alongside the Morakniv Hook Knife 164 but not necessarily a replacement for having a single edged hook knife in both right and left variations.

To protect the knife from becoming accidentally blunt and causing you injury when not in use, we recommend the use of a sheath. Mora now manufactures a simple but ingeniously designed edge protection sheath. Made out of Swedish vegetable tanned leather manufactured locally with cowhides from the Mora region.

The Morakniv Companion is an inexpensive good all-round knife. Comes sharp and ready to use with flat 'Scandi-grind' bevels. A good all-round general duty knife but very capable of being used for power strokes when wood carving.
