Our hardwood is an array of Scottish finest. Locally sourced and documented so even our chopping boards have their origins. We cut and stack each log, they are then air-dried for a minimum of two years to ensure that not only the majority of the moisture is expelled, but the tension held in the timber is relieved.
Once the timber has air-dried a stack will be loaded into the kiln, the kilning process isn’t just heat, it is a process of controlling air circulation, relative humidity, and temperature, to slowly reduce the moisture without causing any defects. Once the timber is dry and stable it is processed into what will best enhance the quality in the timber, whether that’s Elm burr mantle pieces, Pippy Oak chopping boards, or Spalted Beech shelves. For you to have the beauty of Scottish wood in your home.
